OCS Charity Golf 2011

Sherwood Country ClubOn Monday November 14, 2011, Oaks Christian High School hosted their annual charity golf tournament at the Sherwood Country Club in Lake Sherwood, CA.  The tournament is to raise money to help families with tuition that would not otherwise be able to attend such a premier school.  The tournament this year was a sell-out.

Senior Beach Day 10.13.2010

Kids...

Morning briefing...

On Wednesday 10.13.2010, the Oaks Christian High School senior graduating class of 2011 had a phun philled day of activities at Zuma Beach in Malibu.  Even though it was over 100 degrees back at school, they had nice overcast weather for their day at the beach.

The morning started with registration and breakfast in the OC quad.  After a briefing, the students piled into 4 buses and headed for the cooler weather.  Notice in my pictures just after the bus loading, I stopped in Kanan canyon to grab a few shots of the fog holding into the valleys about 1 mile before reaching PCH.  It was spectacular!

OCS Track & Field Video 2010

The Oaks Christian Lions Track & Field team had a great 2010 season.  I shot thousands of still images throughout the season, and lots and lots of HD video.  Here is a 15 minute video of some memories of the events.

OCS Track & Field Video 2009

I have had a number of requests from parents, students and coaches to get a copy of last year (2009) end of season OC Lions Track & Field video.  Well, here it is.  If you were an athlete during the season and want a DVD of the event, let me know by using the Contact Form and I'll make arrangements to get you a DVD.  I am now working on the video for the 2010 season...should be phun!  :- )

Love my iPad!!

Over Spring Break, my family went to Boulder, CO to visit the university.  My daughter loved the campus, town and surrounding area and will add CU Boulder to her list of college applications this summer.  While on campus, I wandered into the student store computer department and happened across the NEW iPad.  It was just released that day, and nobody was around!  Well it was Spring Break...how many college students do you know hanging out in the student store over break?

I instantly fell in love with the iPad and decided to buy one, but found out that in just 30 days a 3G version would be released...so I placed my order.  Once it came, I couldn't put it down for a bunch of hours while I was learning the interface, downloading apps, books and a new digital subscription to Popular Science magazine.  It has now become a regular part of my day.  I read and respond to all of my morning eMail on the iPad with the optional Apple bluetooth mini-keyboard.

The book reader, iBook, is very intuitive and easy on the eyes.  Unfortunately there is not a standard for magazine publishers for the iPad yet, they make up their own...and it sucks!  This will probably take a while since publishers want their own formats.  :- (

Track & Field 2010

Flying Niko...

Welcome to the 2010 season of the Oaks Christian High School Track & Field events. We have some really great athletes this year, and it should prove to be very exciting. I hope you enjoy all of the pictures of our kids, and can see what they are up to during track season if you are unable to make it to the meets. I love to take pictures of the team and hang out with the kids. We have fantastic, wonderful kids and they are competing very hard this year in the meets we have had so far.

In April I bought a new camera (Canon 1D Mark IV) and lens (Canon 28-300mm L Series IS USM) that has enabled me to capture some precious moments in time that was not possible with my other (10) cameras. I have also been shooting quite a bit of HD video, and have a few of our record-breaking moments in action. Below is a collection of Track & Field meets that I have shot this season, and ALL OF THESE PICTURES ARE FREE!! See How To Copy Pictures for free for the details on how you can take a copy of any picture you see on LifeIsPhun.com. These are, however, very low resolution images. If you intend to make large prints (8x10 or larger), send me an email with the "Event Date" and "Image Numbers" and I'll email you the original high-resolution image that is clear enough to make a 4'x5' poster.

Powder Puff Football Game 2009

Ready to play...

On Monday October 5th, the annual event of Junior Girls vs Senior OCS Girls Powder Puff Football game began with the Juniors making an early touchdown!  That, however, would be the last time they scored in the evening.  It was a good game, but the Senior Girls came back with two touchdowns and kept the lead for the rest of the game.

Here are some pictures from the event.

These pictures are FREE for the taking.  Here is how to copy the pictures for free...
